Marquette big man Oso Ighodaro heads to Phoenix in NBA Draft

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (CBS 58) - Former Marquette forward Oso Ighodaro joins his former teammate Tyler Kolek in fulfilling an NBA dream.

After Kolek went with the 34th overall pick to the New York Knicks, Ighodaro heard his name called by the Phoenix Suns at 40th overall.

The pick was originally controlled by the Portland Trail Blazers, but was sent to the New York Knicks and ultimately now to the Suns in a proposed trade.

Twice named to the All-Big East second team, Ighodaro helped Marquette reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013 this past season. In 2023, he helped the Golden Eagles claim both the Big East regular season crown and the Big East Tournament title for the first time in school history.
