WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the suspect killed as 36-year-old Justin Gonzales.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Allis police have released additional information regarding the officer involved shooting that took place early Thursday, Sept. 28.

They clarified earlier reports, noting that multiple officers discharged weapons, with a total of five officers having been placed on administrative leave, per department protocol. Authorities also clarified that the 36-year-old man who was shot at the scene was armed with two knives.


WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 36-year-old man was shot and killed by West Allis Police Department officers on Thursday, Sept. 28. 

Just after 6:30 a.m., police were called to 71st and Greenfield for a report of "family trouble." Officers arrived and located a man armed with at least one knife. 

During the encounter, four officers fired weapons and the suspect was killed. 

Police say the incident was domestic-related. 

The four officers that discharged weapons will be placed on administrative leave, as well as a fifth officer that used non-lethal force during the incident. 

Wauwatosa Police Department will take over the investigation.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed to CBS 58 that they were called to an area near 71st and Greenfield following what they described as a "deadly shooting."

West Allis Police and Fire Dept. officials were seen by CBS 58's crew at the scene at around 7:30 a.m.
