The end of February also brought with it an end to meteorological winter. The months of December, January and February saw a snow total of exactly 29". The total is over 8" below average but at least it was better than the measly 21.5" we had in the previous winter. Over those three winter months we had 54 days with snow.

We did have some rain events in February, but not much in December and January. Total precipitation which includes any rain as well as the liquid equivalent of any snow we got, amounted to 3.94" which was almost an inch and a half below average and goes down as the 38th driest meteorological winter on record. Last winter was even drier.

When it came to temperatures during the winter months, it stared cold but ended a little mild. Both December and January saw an average temperature almost a full five degrees colder than average. February tried to make up some of that deficit with an average temperature over 30 degrees which was about three degrees above average.

Overall the winter average temperature for December, January and February was 24.8 degrees which was over two degrees below average and goes down fairly middle of the pack in the rankings as the 73rd warmest on record.

The spread in temperatures during the winter months was 78 degrees from a coldest temperature of -15 on January 23rd to a hottest temperature of 63 degrees on February 16th.
