MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pat Connaughton and the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation teed off on their sixth annual golf outing this afternoon at The Bog in Saukville. It's not exactly pristine conditions with a soggy course, but the golf itself isn't really what brings the legends back to Wisconsin anyway.
"For me personally it gives me a feeling of giving back to a community that I have lived in, worked in and am very found of," said Bob Dandridge, Hall of Famer.
"What we do in the community is as important, if not more important than anything," said Pat Connaughton, Bucks guard. "We have a fan base that really supports us, how do we support the community?"
Recent Hall of Famer Bob Dandridge and Michael Redd come to the event every year.
"Milwaukee will always be special to me. I was here when I was 20 years old and left when I was in my 30s so here for a long time. This is like home for me, it's always a joy to be back here," said Redd.
This is one of the Bucks Foundation's marquee events every year, and it also signals that basketball is almost back. After an earlier end to last year's playoffs than the team would've liked, it's safe to say they're ready for the new season.
"Silver lining behind that is you have a real off-season. Strength, conditioning. You can get back into a rhythm. You can build up some strength, you can build up some explosiveness, get conditioning back where it needs to be. Now people are like itching for it. We're itching to get back," said Connaughton.
The Bucks start the preseason in less than three weeks.
