Previewing upcoming events in Racine County
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local care service for mothers and moms-to-be held a job fair Wednesday, hoping to hire more care coordinators.
Bellies and Babees, on Milwaukee's south side, has seen a recent influx of people interested in receiving services, especially since the pandemic.
With few similar agencies on the south side, Bellies and Babees is gaining a lot of attention so they need more care coordinators.
Staff at the agency say the perfect candidate is someone who wants to help mothers in the community feel self-sustainable and connect with certain resources.
"We develop a care plan, so we identify risk factors and what their needs may be to grow and be self-sufficient, so things like housing, employment, transportation is a big one too -- or child care, and then we try and find supports within Milwaukee County that we can connect them with," said care coordinator and co-director Nicole Watts.
With a small turnout at Wednesday's event, Bellies and Babees wants to continue to spread the word that they're still looking for people to apply to be are coordinators.
They're especially looking for bilingual or multilingual applicants.
