MILWAUKEE (CBS58) -- The Milwaukee County Historical Society is gearing up for increased foot traffic as the warm weather approaches.
Through exhibits and programs, the Historical Society works to preserve our county's history and make materials relating to it available to residents. They have thousands of county records and a research library for people to learn more about their family history.
They also have lots of ongoing programs like yoga and trivia sessions. Tours of the downtown building, an early 20th-century bank, are also available.
Right now, the 2023 featured exhibit commemorates the 175th anniversary of Wisconsin's statehood.
"We're looking at the major themes of Wisconsin history but with a particularly Milwaukee lens. So, looking at indigenous history and pioneer history, business, culture, all kinds of different things," Milwaukee County Historical Society Interim Executive Director Ben Barbera said.
