Milwaukee County Zoo's annual 'Wild Lights' returns for the 4th year
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A couple of inches of snow in Milwaukee makes some people waddle around. See some real penguins at the new penguin exhibit. They are some of the many animals you'll find out in the colder temperatures.
"We have a number of species that are out year-round, and actually prefer and enjoy the cold," said Milwaukee County Zoo communications coordinator, Kimberly Graves. "You'll see our harbor seals, caribou, elk, most likely the otters, Macaks, snow leopards...If you come out to the zoo on a snow day it's a good opportunity to see some of those animals playing in the snow."
Swinging monkeys are taking over for Santa's reindeer all month long.
The Wild Lights event runs nightly through New Year's Eve, starting at 5:30 p.m. Twinkly tunnels, gum drops, and a lot of lights have taken over the grounds.
"Roughly hundreds of thousands, and we keep adding on every year," said Graves.
During Wild Lights, the Milwaukee County Zoo has special food, cocktails and hot cocoa specials for families to indulge.
