Milwaukee fire crews find 3-foot alligator while battling a 2-alarm house fire

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) responded to a three-floor house fire Saturday, June 20 and they found more than just a fire - but a three-foot alligator. 

MFD told CBS 58 shortly after 1:00 p.m. they responded to W. Scott St. - a wire sparked and was smoking in the back of the house. When they arrived, the back was fully engulfed in flames. 

They upgraded to a full assignment and two alarm fire. They proceeded with their hot water protocol and distinguished the flames. 

Fire crews searched all three floors and only found a three-foot alligator. They called MADACC who removed the animal. 

MADACC confirmed that they have the alligator and they believe it's a female. 

No one else was found inside and there are no injuries reported. 

MFD and the Milwaukee Police Department are investigating.
