MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Election Commission and Milwaukee Public Schools are working together on a new sticker contest to encourage participation during the 2026-27 election cycle.
The "I Voted Early" sticker contest opened Monday, Sept. 22 and runs through Oct. 31. It invites Milwaukee residents with a connection to MPS, including students, relatives, employees and volunteers, to submit original artwork.
Winning designs will be printed on 2-inch round stickers distributed at all early voting sites starting with the Feb. 2026 spring primary.
Paulina Gutiérrez, executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, said in a Monday, Sept. 22 statement that the program is meant to build excitement about voting and increase awareness of in-person absentee options. MPS Superintendent Dr. Brenda Cassellius said the contest provides students and families a creative link to the democratic process.
Entries will be judged in four groups: kindergarten through 3rd grade, 4th through 8th grade, 9th through 12th grade, as well as adults.
Public online voting will take place Nov. 17 to Dec. 17, with winners announced in Jan. 2026.
