Milwaukee man sentenced to 4 years in prison for sexual assault at UWM residence hall
Milwaukee County Sheriff\'s Office MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man was sentenced to four years in prison Tuesday, after pleading guilty to third degree sexual assault.
Brendan Hoover was charged back in February of 2024 after a UW-Milwaukee police officer received an assault report from the victim. She said she'd gone out for drinks after work, according to the criminal complaint, and that was the last thing she remembered before waking up in a bedroom at the UWM residence hall on Kenilworth Place, with Hoover and another man-later identified as Heaven'L Parker- who she hadn't seen before.
Prosecutors say investigators obtained surveillance video from Landmark Lanes that shows Hoover, Parker, and the victim outside the bar. The footage reportedly shows an unknown female coming toward the victim and beginning to fight with her, punching the victim until unconscious, with Hoover and Parker standing close by. Hoover and Parker allegedly continued to stand near the unconscious victim without offering any aid.
When interviewed by authorities, prosecutors say Hoover admitted he and the victim had sexual intercourse but claimed it was consensual. He said he left the room while Parker had sex with the victim, according to the complaint, and stayed up the rest of the night because he did not trust Parker alone in his room. He reportedly said Parker was a stranger, who he'd just met that night.
Court records show charges against Parker have been dismissed.
Hoover's sentence is to be followed by four years extended supervision.
