INDIANAPOLIS (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Panthers' run in the Horizon League Championship came up just short of an NCAA Tournament berth. The Panthers lost to Oakland 83-76.
The game was back and forth with 10 lead changes and nine ties.
Four different players scored in double figures, led by Erik Pratt with 16.
Kentrell Pullian finished with 15 points, BJ Freeman finished with 14 points, and Langston Wilson added 10 points and six rebounds.
The Panthers tied the game at 70 points with 2:56 to play, but the Golden Grizzlies closed the game on a 13-6 run.
Milwaukee was in the Horizon League tournament title game for the first time since 2017 and was looking for its first NCAA tournament berth since 2014.
The Panthers are 20-15 and could still have postseason basketball ahead after making the College Basketball Invitational last season.
