MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works has called for a DPW Snow Removal Operation which means that alternate side parking rules are in effect Sunday night from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday morning.
Those parking on the street overnight will need to park on the odd side.
If there is a posted sign on your street with different snow removal rules, that sign takes precedence over the Snow Removal Operation.
If you are unable to find street parking due to the rules you may park in certain MPS lots after 7 p.m. Sunday but the cars must be moved by 7 a.m. Monday morning.
Those who do not move their car will receive a $40 ticket. During previous snow removal operations this winter thousands of cars have been ticketed.
Milwaukee currently has 187 pieces of equipment clearing and salting roads.
In addition, DPW Sanitation crews will not be picking up garbage and recycling on Monday, April 16. These collections will take place on Tuesday, April 17.
