MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Four Milwaukee police officers, injured in the line of duty were honored at the department's fall merit awards on Tuesday evening.
Two officers were on foot patrol on the northwest side of Milwaukee on July 20 when a vehicle hit them. They remained calm and gave officers a description of the vehicle which led to the driver's arrest.
Two other officers were hit by a driver running a red light. Other officers were able to arrest that intoxicated driver.
Life-saving awards were also handed out to officers and citizens for valor and merit.
