Milwaukee police investigate Sunday morning shooting of 16-year-old near 51st and Nash

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred Sunday, Dec. 5, near 51st and Nash.

Milwaukee police say the shooting took place at approximately 2:11 a.m. Sunday.

Officials report that the victim, a 16-year-old Milwaukee male, suffered a single gunshot wound and later took himself to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say the victim is expected to survive.

Authorities reportedly continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Milwaukee police say they are seeking an unknown suspect in relation to the shooting.
