Milwaukee police: Car crash kills 1 and injures another, arrest made

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a car crash that happened on Oct. 20 around 10:23 p.m. near 27th and Roosevelt.

Officials say officers attempted to stop a vehicle speeding on N. Teutonia Avenue and W. Congress Street around 10:23 p.m. Officers terminated the pursuit, but the driver -- a 30-year-old man -- continued speeding on W. Roosevelt before crashing into a car traveling on N. 27th Street.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and arrested. 

According to police, the 47-year-old man driving the car that was hit died at the scene. His 31-year-old female passenger was taken to a local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
