Milwaukee police seek suspect who fired at officers near 23rd and Hadley

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are looking for a suspect who they say fired shots at officers near 23rd and Hadley Tuesday evening, May 10. 

Officers responded to the area near 24th and Chambers for a "subject with gun" complaint around 8:21 p.m. Upon arrival, police encountered an armed individual who fled on foot. 

The officers pursued the individual, identified themselves and commanded the individual to stop. 

Police say the suspect turned and discharged a firearm at the officers, who returned fire. 

The suspect fled the scene, and it is unknown if the individual was struck. No officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire.

Authorities continue to search for the known suspect.
