MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police is looking for anyone who can help identify a young woman from 44 years ago.

Police say that on March 16, 1982, they found the remains of a young woman, around 15-25 years in age, floating in the Milwaukee River near the docks around 420 N. Plankinton Ave.

Police say that she had been deceased for about one week to three months at the time of her discovery.

She was a Black female, standing around five feet four inches tall and weighing about 137 pounds.

She had brown hair with black eyes.

She was found fully clothed in a tan hip-length wool jacket with buttons down the front, blue slacks, a brown striped long-sleeved shirt, a brown blouse that was zippered, and black calf-length vinyl boots that had a zipper down the side with green knee-high socks.

She was also wearing a knit cap with a scarf attached that covered her head.

She had both earlobes pierced but with no earrings when she was found.

She had a surgical scar that run vertical from her navel to pubic area. With a smaller scar on her right forearm and an old burn scar on the outside of her right ankle. Police say she might've had her appendix removed at some point in life.

She was also found with a green BIC lighter and an empty Tic Tac box.

Police say she had extensive dental work with several fillings and a tooth on her lower left jaw and upper middle was extracted earlier in life. She also wore a fixed partial bridge on her upper jaw cover covering the extracted upper tooth to make it seem she had a full set of teeth.

Anyone with information should contact Milwaukee Police Department at (844) 232-6262.
