Milwaukee’s Office of African American Affairs to hold community open house
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee’s Office of African American Affairs (OAAA) is rolling out the resources and inviting the community to come check out its space on Friday, Sept. 5, located at 4830 W. Fond Du Lac. Starting at 10 a.m., a new mural by artist Ego, Terrel Morgan, is being unveiled. The mural will feature prominent faces from Milwaukee and beyond.
The space is a place where all are welcome to find help and support with everything from financial literacy to entrepreneurship and veteran services.
“We welcome people to come out here, learn about our five pillars, which is entrepreneurship, education, financial literacy, self-care and youth and family, so that creates the framework for this particular office and the resources and services that we’ll be providing to the community,” said Melissa Buford, the director of the OAAA.
On site Friday, you’ll find a calendar of various events and community partners that will provide classes and services throughout the year.
The open house for the Office of African American Affairs will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. The office is also open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
