10 Milwaukee teens awarded scholarships from Ross Stores, Inc.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Ross Stores honored ten local high school seniors on Monday as they received the Ross Stores Scholarship.
Aimed at recognizing academic excellence and commitment to community, these scholarships were awarded to a total of 20 students across the nation. The teens from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee represent half of the 2023 recipients.
Andre Douglas, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Assistant Vice President of College, Career and Teen Services, praised the support in a press release announcing the scholarships.
“The burden of student loan debt is real and is an unfortunate reality for many students. Thanks to the support of Ross Stores and the Ross Stores Scholarship Program, our scholars will not have to worry about that," Douglas said.
An event to honor the local students was held at a Milwaukee location of Ross Dress for Less, allowing the students to connect with store leaders and learn more about retail operations.
