Milwaukee's historic Gas Light Building sold to Miami-based company

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One of downtown Milwaukee's most recognizable buildings has a new owner, but its future is uncertain.

The 95-year-old Art Deco-styled building on E. Wisconsin Avenue that once served as the headquarters of the Wisconsin Gas Company may be most famous for its flame-shaped light at the top -- a light that changes color depending on the weather forecast.

The sale of the building was confirmed in court this week, and the document lists Rialto Capital Advisors, a real estate company based in Miami, as the buyer.

We have reached out to the company to ask about the building's future.
