MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Monday night, Milwaukee's Jewish community gathered for prayer to mark the ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The hour-long program focused on gratitude for hostages returning home alive and grief for those who didn't.
"This agreement that has been so long in coming, I think, needs to be recognized, even as the circumstances are so much less and so much later than we would've liked them to be," said Rabbi Joel Alter, Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid.
Rabbi Alter told us he's spoken to a few people in his congregation who have many mixed emotions about the agreement.
That's why he wanted to hold Monday night's gathering to express gratitude and hope for a peaceful future.
