MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The Walker Point community was hit hard when a popular brewery was forced to shut down back in November.

Now, the new owners of MobCraft Brewery are looking to breathe new life into the community staple.

The new owners of MobCraft officially purchased the brewery last week.

While they hope to bring the same energy MobCraft had before, there will be a few changes.

"You're going to see the shuffle puck table will be gone and replaced with more seating inside, and there will be few more interior changes in terms of design," Sara Halstead, President of Rems LLC explained.

Interior design isn't the only switch up, new owner Sarah Halstead says they're excited to put their own spin on the menu.

"You'll see pizzas, sandwiches, seasonal salads, and some appetizers that will be very similar to what MobCraft had previously offered. Some of the pizzas will be the same, and some will be a little different. Some of the beers will definitely look familiar we are keeping our flagship lineup, so beers like Vanilla Wafer Porter and the MobCraft Amber will definitely be making an appearance on the draft lines," said Halstead.

Before Halstead purchased the popular brewery, MobCraft was forced to close nearly five months ago.

"They didn't have enough money to pay the bills," said Halstead.

Halstead says the decision to buy was an easy one.

"We started hearing all the rumbling of them closing we were both really sad about the loss of MobCraft to the community and the neighborhood. We started talking about it, and more and more, it started making sense to pursue and fast forward a couple of months, and here we are," said Halstead.

This isn't the first time Sarah has been behind the bar.

"I was the director of finance and HR from February 2019 to March of 2023 so a little over 4 years," said Halstead.

But now she is preparing herself to step into the role of owner.

"I'm just really excited to get it back up and running, to have people in here again and hearing laughter and just people having a good time

Right now, Halstead has permits and licenses that require approval; once these are cleared, they plan to hold a grand reopening in May.
