More heat and humidity Thursday with another storm chance
Wednesday was one of the warmest days of the year so far. The high in Milwaukee reached 93 degrees which is the second warmest temperature of the year and the fourth warmest day behind the back-to-back-to-back days in June that all hit 94.
With highs reaching the upper 80s and the low 90s yesterday and miserable level humidity in some areas with dew points getting close to 80 the feels like temps jumped well above 100 degrees in many locations. West Bend topped the list with a whopping heat index of 110. Only a few of our northern areas failed to reach 100 for a feels like temp.
More heat is on the way Thursday with morning temps already very warm in the upper 70s. It's not going to take much to see highs reach 90 degrees for another day. Then a cold front rolls through Thursday evening dropping the temps for Friday and Saturday in the upper 70s and low 80s. Another round of heat is looking likely for Sunday/Monday next week with highs in the upper 80s Sunday and maybe the hottest day of the year on Monday!
Humidity levels stay high on Thursday with dew points in the lower 70s. Maybe not as humid as Wednesday but still very sticky. The humidity level drops a touch for Thursday but still very muggy and kicks right back to tropical levels for Saturday in the low 70s.
All of that heat and humidity for Thursday will push feel like temps well into the 90s for most of southeast Wisconsin. Our southeast counties have the best chance to see triple digit feels like temps for the second day in a row. The Waukesha/Milwaukee metro area and communities south of there have the best chance to hit 100 degree heat index values.
A few showers and storms are also likely on Thursday and could play a big factor on whether we hit 90 or not. A few showers are out there Thursday morning in northern counties and some isolated showers and storms will be possible the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. The best timing for rain looks to be in the late afternoon and early evening hours when a few strong storms might be possible.
