MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A driver has been pronounced dead on Wednesday, Oct. 15, according to Milwaukee police, following a reported crash into a building.

Officials say a 44-year-old driver veered off of the road at around 2:22 a.m., crashing into a fence before crashing into a building at the corner of 35th and Fond du Lac.

That driver was taken to a hospital to be treated but did not survive the injuries. Police do not yet know if the death was a result of the crash or due to a medical emergency.

MPD is investigating the situation.
