MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marquette University police are investigating a report of shots fired near 17th and State Wednesday night, June 10.

Police say a witness called to report the incident around 7:30 p.m. and described a male in an orange shirt standing outside a white vehicle without an unknown description and unknown license plate.

The witness said another unidentified subject was inside a red vehicle and both vehicles fled the scene following the gunshots.

Marquette officers responded to the scene and recovered four casings.

Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
