MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A mother in Muskego is facing her first OWI for allegedly driving drunk with her 4-year-old in her back seat.
A witness said he narrowly avoided a collision with Myra Bell as she pulled into a gas station earlier in June when he heard the honk of her car horn and made a sad discovery.
It was in the parking lot of a Kwik Trip where Myra Bell pulled in and parked slanted at a gas pump. According to the criminal complaint, a witness knew something was up when he heard Bell's car horn blare continuously. The witness says he walked over to check it out and found her 4-year-old son honking the horn.
The boy said, "she's not waking up."
With her car still in drive, the Witness says Bell's head was tilted back as if she was sleeping. The man tapped Bell on the face, she woke up, said she was fine, and later sped out of the lot. Police pulled her over soon after near her home where she told officers she had bought a bottle of Vodka.
Police say she was emotional and refused field sobriety tests.
Officers arrested her and she was cited for her first OWI.
If convicted, Bell could pay up to $1,100 in fines and spend up to six months in jail.
