New micro-market opens in the Third Ward offering convenient grocery options to residents
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Third Ward, an area that has more than 6,000 residents and 450 businesses, now has a grocery store. Go Grocer opening at the Gaslight Lofts offers a range of options for people who live in the building and around it.
"I think it's been around 20 years; the Third Ward hasn't had something like this, and I think it's such a need for such a highly populated residential neighborhood," said Johnny Rivera.
Johnny owns and operates Go Grocer MKE with his brother, Edgar Rivera. After living in the Milwaukee area for nearly a decade, he's excited to start a business here.
The two brothers have put a lot of thought and effort into what options they would offer. They have a little something for everyone with ready-to-go sandwiches, fresh produce and vegan or gluten-free food options.
Go Grocer is an already established micro-market chain in Chicago. Now the Rivera brothers are hoping to do the same in urban areas around Milwaukee. 415 E. Menomonee St in Milwaukee's Third Ward is the first location for Go Grocer MKE. By the end of the year, they hope to open their second store in the Brewery District.
