New night market coming to the Deer District July-Sept.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new night market is coming to Milwaukee's downtown Deer District.
The event, presented by Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network, will support minority-owned businesses, and supply the community with healthy, locally-produced food, and support and develop small food businesses.
The Deer District Market will take place Wednesdays throughout July, August and Sept., with the first market set for July 28.
The market will take place on from 5-9 p.m. on the following dates:
- July 28
- August 4
- August 11
- August 25
- September 1
- September 8
- September 15
- September 25 (Saturday)

According to a news release, Deer District Market is produced by Arthur Ircink, creator of the Emmy Award winning PBS show Wisconsin Foodie, which is going on 14 years of telling Wisconsin's amazing food stories from the ground to our plates. Ircink has worked as a filmmaker and entrepreneur in the Milwaukee area for the past 15 years and is also the publisher of local food magazine Edible Milwaukee. As one of the founders of the popular Shorewood Farmers Market in Estabrook Park, Ircink is fascinated with craft, process and promoting a local food economy
