Previewing upcoming events in Racine County
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – City and county leaders celebrated the opening of a new store at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport on Tuesday, August 11.
The store, Bronzeville Crossing, highlights the neighborhood’s history and the talents of the people who call it home.
The shop’s retail partnership includes a 30 percent participation of disadvantage businesses. County leaders said it is helping achieve the county’s vision of racial equity by supporting local businesses owned by people of color.
The shop will have arts, crafts and gifts made by Bronzeville businesses.
One of the goals is to help travelers learn more about the neighborhoods that make up Milwaukee.
"Bronzeville is Milwaukee’s African-American arts, culture and entertainment district," 6th District Alderwoman Milele Coggs said. "It is so great to see Milwaukee County and the airport bring a little bit of Bronzeville to those who visit the city of Milwaukee. We are proud of the neighborhood."
The shop is located in Terminal C and open daily.
