NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell visits Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was in Green Bay Monday, Aug. 14, as the league continues to ramp up support and hype for the 2025 NFL Draft in Wisconsin.

Goodell met with sponsors for the 90th annual event and talked to the media where the highlight of the press conference was actually a mistake. Talking about the tremendous impact that the draft has, Goodell set a goal for 70 million viewers, he just made one key error.

"We want to see the Green Bay Super Bowl get 70 million...excuse me...Sorry...NFL draft," Goodell said.

By the time Goodell corrected himself, the crowd was already cheering. Just to be clear though the Super Bowl is not coming to Wisconsin, at least not yet. But as Goodell said, the draft is the biggest event of the NFL off-season. The three-day draft is expected to bring in around 250,000 fans and nearly $100 million in economic boost.

"It's a chance for you to put your community on the biggest stage and we think that's really the opportunity here for you all. Everyone's going to see Green Bay. They may see it with some snow, maybe not some snow, I don't know," Goodell said.
