Office building in downtown Milwaukee confirms employee has positive coronavirus case

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An office building in downtown Milwaukee has a confirmed case of coronavirus, according to the company managing the building.

The property manager at 330 E. Kilbourne Ave. sent an email informing employees of the building that an individual working in the building tested positive for COVID-19. The individual has been in self-quarantine since testing positive for the virus.

Property managers told employees that closing the building is not necessary because the health department considers the case to be low risk, as the person is not exhibiting symptoms.

The company plans to undergo deep cleaning efforts in the building and provide hand sanitizer.

The company sent CBS 58 a statement saying:

"The health and well-being of our tenants, staff, partners, vendors and visitors is our top priority. We were notified yesterday afternoon of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at 330 Kilbourn. We quickly notified the Health Department and all of our tenants in building. We are following established cleaning protocols to disinfect all impacted areas. This is in addition to the elevated daily cleaning measures we implemented weeks ago at all our buildings."
