MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local task officers hired by the FBI were honored Monday, nearly a year after their brave response to a critical situation.
"We could not do our job as the FBI today without that taskforce relationship, nor would we want to," said Special Agent in Charge Michael Hensle. "That is something that's grown exponentially over the last 20 years and we only expect that to grow more."
On Monday, officers from the Wauwatosa and Brookfield police departments and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office were recognized during a ceremony at the FBI Milwaukee Field Office.
Awards were handed out, acknowledging their efforts in saving a man who was shot and seriously injured at a Milwaukee gas station last year.
"Without the quick response, selflessness and decisive action taken by the TFOs, the subject might not have survived the multiple gunshot wounds he sustained," said Hensle.
