EAGLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Old World Wisconsin, a living history museum in Eagle, is currently seeking part-time, seasonal employees to fill a variety of unique and historically inspired roles that offer a taste of life in the 19th century.
Daniel Freas, Site Director for Old World Wisconsin joined us on Monday, March 27 to discuss the opportunities.
He shared that available positions include 19th-century baseball players, historic brewers and one-room schoolhouse teachers, among others. The baseball players will recruit guests to join an 1870s-style game, featuring underhand pitching and larger, softer balls for easier catching. Historic brewers will learn old-world methods to educate guests about the significant role beer played in Wisconsin's early culture.
One-room schoolhouse teachers will take on the responsibility of instructing young learners in traditional subjects like reading, writing and arithmetic, using tools and techniques from the past. Additional openings range from 19th-century farmers and blacksmiths to general store clerks and historic gardeners.
All guest experience facilitators will receive training prior to beginning their roles. Those interested in applying can visit the Old World Wisconsin website for more information. The museum is open from May 6 through Sept. 24, with varying days and hours of operation.
