GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A chippy affair during the heat of the day in Green Bay. During the closed portion of practice, Matt LaFleur lit up Rasheed Walker and made him run. Jordan Love says there is a fine line between physical and foolish.
"The message is just practice smarter," Jordan Love says. "Always have that team first mentality. Obviously, everybody is out there competing."
No report cards for the rookies yet, but first round receiver Matthew Golden is certainly passing the test since leaving college.
"Being a three-year guy, two years at Houston, one year at Texas...he's young," Gutekunst says. "Certainly, the exposure at Texas probably was very helpful for him. But I do think sometimes the players we're getting now are a little more accustomed to adjusting quickly, just because there's so much more movement. And they've bounced around a little bit, so the ability to adjust, I think, is you know -- they've had that experience already, so that may help him. But he's really smart, you know, and again, another one of our guys that's adjusted really well."
When asked about running back Marshawn Lloyd's leg injury, Matt LaFleur used the word "unfortunate" and Brian Gutekunst said, "I feel for him." You get the sense after more scans, the news won't be good.
