MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For a while, Milwaukee Panthers basketball practice was a bit chaotic.
Director of Athletics Amanda Braun says, "It was a little bit like a recess," as they shared space with other teams.
Any given day they could be practicing with the ping of baseball bats 30 feet away, or the track and field team running laps around them. That's where the brand-new Orthopedic Hospital of Wisconsin Center comes in.
"Everything is first-class, and I think that's going to benefit not only our recruiting, but also our player development."
An $8.1 million facility with every inch meticulously mapped out through a 10-year process. From the cupholder size in the film room, to the walls plastered with Panthers legends. "We had to fit those big, green Gatorade bottles. We learned that."
"You know, kids are looking for a place where they can go and get better. Coach Lundy talks about being pros, and this is a place where they can get that work done. It's a real sign and signal of the commitment we've made to our athletics programs."
They'll have the official ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, July 25.
