Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market to send truckload of food and water for flood relief

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market are scheduled to deliver a semi-truck of supplies Friday, Aug. 15 to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to aid Milwaukee and Waukesha counties after last weekend’s flooding.
The shipment included 18 pallets with about 31,000 bottles of water and nearly 3,000 jars of peanut butter.
Stores in Wisconsin and Mariano’s locations in Illinois are collecting donations through Tuesday, Aug. 26 by offering shoppers the option to round up purchases at checkout. Proceeds will support those affected in southeastern Wisconsin.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin officials said demand for assistance is at its highest in more than five years. The organization will distribute the supplies to local pantry partners serving flood-impacted families.
