RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Former Brewers bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel hosted his annual Koos for Kids golf fundraiser Monday afternoon.
Current Milwaukee third base coach Jason Lane and a few other local celebrities helped raise nearly $50,000 at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine.
Koos for Kids has been running strong for almost two decades helping terminally ill and disadvantaged children in southeast Wisconsin. Whether it's a challenger baseball or bowling league, donating coats, or a vacation trip, Koos for Kids aims to make the kids' lives a little brighter.
"We're just very lucky that everyone has been behind us, says Hanel. "We're just a little step, a little hope for them as they go through a hard time dealing with what they are dealing with."
Lane adds, "I think any way you can help out around the community and give some of your time for everything that the city and fans do for us, it's an easy thing to do."
