Pleasant Prairie police arrest man accused of firing shots at contractor working at neighboring property

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Pleasant Prairie police took a suspect into custody Tuesday night, who they say fired shots at a contractor working at a neighboring property.

Police were notified of the shooting just before 4 p.m. Oct. 22. The victim stated he was a contractor for a tree trimming service and was confronted by a male suspect near the 10300 block of 122nd Street.

The victim said the suspect threatened to kill him and fired his weapon, narrowly missing the victim as he tried to flee in his work vehicle.

A search warrant was executed for a 55-year-old Pleasant Prairie man, with the help of Kenosha County Sheriff's Department Tactical Response Team.

Police say around 8:30 p.m., the suspect was located inside a parked vehicle in his driveway but refused to comply with commands to surrender. After several failed attempts, law enforcement deployed chemical munitions, and the suspect exited his vehicle and was taken into custody.

He was transported to the Kenosha County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and bail jumping.
