Preparing for 2024-25 season, Bucks host media day at Fiserv Forum

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It is the time of year when sports worlds converge. The Green Bay Packers campaign is underway, the Milwaukee Brewers are getting ready to make a postseason run, and don't look now -- but here come the Milwaukee Bucks.

Believe it or not, Giannis and company tip off the preseason Oct. 6. On Monday, Sept. 30, the team held their annual media day at Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks officially start the 2024-25 season with training camp starting in California. After back-to-back seasons losing in the first round, the Bucks are trying to return to the top of the Eastern Conference and the NBA.

The day is filled with pictures and glamour shots to start, but the work starts as well.

The Bucks did not have a full season with Doc Rivers or full availability with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard or Khris Middleton throughout the year. Bucks GM Jon Horst says they have done a full internal review to put themselves in better position, and of course feel they have enough. However, the biggest benefit may be time together that started in the offseason and can grow out in California.

"I think us just being around each other. when you get to know people, and you spend time around them and have more respect for who they are, learn things about them. It becomes easier to be for them on the court," said Damian Lillard, Bucks guard. "Take it day by day and try to build in what we have. the foundation of the last few months. hopefully that puts us in a better position to compete this season."

The Bucks will spend roughly five days in California. For the most part the Bucks are healthy, but Khris Middleton is coming off clean up surgery on his ankles. Middleton will be taking part in camp but will miss some of the live team reps as he eases his way into the season.
