Project aimed at addressing food insecurity receives $100,000 award from local nonprofit
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In Milwaukee, a project that aims to address food insecurity, just got a huge financial boost from a local nonprofit.
The MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary was given a $100,000 award from the Impact 100 Greater Milwaukee Group.
These funds will help support their kitchen project, which will help expand food access and support for residents.
It's an investment that Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley believes will help build a stronger, healthier city.
"This grant award is investing in people it's an investment in our neighborhood, and it's an investment in the belief that I hold very deeply that every single Milwaukee County resident deserves access to healthy foods," said Crowley.
Impact 100 Greater Milwaukee is giving grants to five different local projects, totaling to nearly half-a-million dollars.
