MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Downtown Milwaukee could soon welcome its first new condominium high-rise in nearly two decades under a newly unveiled development proposal.

New Land Enterprises has introduced plans for "Zenith," a 25-story condominium tower proposed for a gravel lot on East Kilbourn Avenue overlooking Lake Michigan.

The development would include more than 220 condominium units, adding a significant residential presence to the city's lakefront skyline.

Project leaders say the proposal comes in response to strong demand for new condominium options in Milwaukee.

"We have done our research, we have done feasibility studies, we have reached out to our community, our local brokerages, and we have found out that there is such a pent-up demand for a building like this," said Josh Ruvin, associate agent for Falk Ruvin Gallagher. "People looking for condos have had the same option for 20 years, so to be able to bring them something new and something new to the city of Milwaukee is very, very exciting."

If approved, construction is expected to begin next summer, with completion anticipated by May 2029.
