RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Janell Decker, RUSD Deputy Chief Academic Officer joined us on Racine & Me to discuss the Raising Readers program.
Early Literacy: It’s all hands on deck to build and boost the early literacy skills of every RUSD student. In addition to adding reading coaches, interventionists and tutors to schools, the District has also created Raising Readers, a hub where parents can access additional resources to continue progressing and reinforcing these crucial skills at home. From free books, to libraries of read-alouds and letter learning activities, there is something for every level of reader in the resource library. Accelerated academics.
RUSD has a new and improved gifted and advanced program for students needing additional challenges in the classrooms. In addition, the district has a robust offering of Advanced Placement courses that available to students and International Baccalaureate programs as well.
