Racine & Me: Burlington Businessowners come together for a good 'paws'
BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two Burlington businessowners are collaborating to raise money for a common space for our furry friends. Andora Byrne is the owner of The Royal Canine and Aubrey McGaughy is the Owner of 2 Fancie Gals and Organizer of Burlington Bi-annual Wine Walk.
Both joined us in studio to talk about their upcoming event to fundraise together. The Royal Canine is a self-service dog wash in its first year located in downtown Burlington. The Royal Canine participates in lots of pet-friendly events and loves to collaborate however/whenever possible! 2 Fancie Gals, a re-purposed furniture and home décor store also located in Burlington. Aubrey also leads the bi-annual Burlington Wine Walk, which is now in its 6th year!
The proceeds from these events go to different local non-profit organizations to benefit the entire community. The next wine walk is coming up on Saturday, November 23rd, from 1-5, and will have 15 pouring locations. Each location offers 2 wines to sample along with a small snack to enjoy while guests can browse, shop and enjoy some of the awesome Burlington businesses! The Burlington Dog Park is hosting the fall wine trail as a fundraiser to make improvements to the park grounds.
They are a fully self-funded and volunteer run organization providing a safe and clean environment for local dog owners. The organization also maintains the park’s dog agility course and other amenities such as pet waste disposal bags and fresh water. 2 years ago, new fencing was required costing approximately $7,500, which depleted all of the park’s reserves.
Since there’s nothing better around than shopping, wine, and dogs we decided to involve some local rescues to join us at some of the pouring locations with some pups that are looking for their fur-ever homes! So far these include Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue and Biggie Paws Rescue. The adoptable pups will be available for a meet and greet for the first hour of the walk at various pouring locations!
