Over Our Head Players opens their 33rd season in September with “Misery,” a psychological thriller by William Goldman, based on the novel by Stephen King. A masterful blend of suspense and relentless tension, Misery runs four weekends, Sept. 20 – Oct.12 at Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth Street, Downtown Racine. Tickets are $21.00.”Misery” tells the harrowing tale of Paul Sheldon, a successful author who, following a severe car accident, finds himself at the mercy of Annie Wilkes, his “number one fan.”  However, Paul soon discovers that Annie’s devotion is far from ordinary.

Trapped in her remote home and subjected to her increasingly erratic behavior, Paul must navigate a nightmarish ordeal that tests his will to survive. As Annie’s obsession with his literary work takes a terrifying turn, she imposes her own twisted demands on Paul. The boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, leading to a harrowing struggle for survival.

This stage adaptation of Stephen King’s novel promises to deliver a captivating, edge-of-your-seat experience. This production is for mature audiences and evokes scenes of violence.
