Racine & Me: Wheels for Bill
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Dan Johnson and Anthony Porcaro joined us in studio to discuss an upcoming fundraiser for a friend in need, Bill Martin.
Martin is a math teacher from Horlick High School, suffered a tragic accident on October 20, 2018, that took the life of his beloved wife (Michelle) and left him with a multitude of life-threatening injuries. After many surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy, Bill is in the process of learning to walk again. Even though this accident took so much from this man, he is working towards his goal of getting back into the classroom and teach again.
This is where he has made the most impact in the lives of students for years. We are raising funds to purchase a van that is wheelchair accessible and will allow him to drive without the use of his feet as the accident caused nerve damage in his lower extremities. His ultimate goal is to continue work to get back to the students of Horlick High School and teach. His story is truly inspirational! Tickets are $25 at the door, but if you mention that you saw us on Racine & Me you will get in for $20. Students will get in for $15 at the door only.
