Racine & Me: Wine Walk, Candy Crawl, Beer & Bacon Fest

 

RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- From wine to candy or beer and bacon, downtown Racine has a lot going on in the next few weeks!

Kelly Kruse is the Executive Director of Downtown Racine Corporation. She joined us virtually to give us the rundown on fun events you can enjoy!

First up, the fan favorite wine walks!

The Downtown Racine Corporation will be hosting Wine Walks on Oct. 7 and 14, 2023 from 1pm-6pm. Enjoy the change of seasons in historic and hip downtown by sampling 20 delicious wines along with 10 beer samples poured at 30 participating businesses. Sample, shop and enjoy at your own pace; and all stops are within an easily walkable distance of each other.

Tickets for the event are $40 each and will include admission to the Wine Walk’s 30 stops, wine sampling glass, a canvas tote-bag and snacks at each location.

Next up, The Candy Crawl!

Bring your little monsters, princesses and Minions for a free trick-or-treating event. Downtown businesses will be passing out sweets and treats. Mark your calendars for Sat., Oct. 21 and 28 from 12pm-2pm for Downtown Racine’s annual Candy Crawl and Scavenger Hunt. Bring the family for a day of free candy giveaways and a fun scavenger hunt for kids of all ages to enjoy. Over 25 participating businesses will pass out candy and welcome participants to their shops and restaurants.

Free bags that you can use to fill with candy and Candy Crawl maps will be available at the Downtown Racine Corp. office (425 Main St).
Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in a self-guided Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. Those who return their completed map to the DRC office will be entered to win one of three kid's prize packs. Maps must be returned to the DRC office by 4pm on Oct. 28
Maps of locations along with scavenger hunt sites are available at RacineDowntown.com beginning Oct. 15.
