Winos for Rhinos

The month of March kicks off with a fundraising event at the Racine Zoo for the conservation and care of the Eastern Black Rhinos. Two zoo reps pour out the details for Winos for Rhinos. Learn about the wines, dinner, and animal encounters provided. We also discuss why rhinos are threatened or endangered and ways the public can help.

Thoughts for Food

It’s a night of music at multiple venues and with dozens of artists. Thoughts for Food is back in Racine for its 27th year. The benefit concert has provided more than a quarter century of music with the goal of feeding the hungry. Organizers explain how the Racine County Food Bank uses the proceeds and why the support is especially needed right now.

All Ages Show Performance

Join young musicians the night before the Thoughts for Food main event. The All Ages Show at the Eagles Club features local youth. Organizers explain the importance of introducing kids to music and giving back to the community. A Park High School senior who’s performing at the All Ages Show gives us a sneak peek at her performance. Christina Dressler sings in the studio as she plays guitar.

Empty Bowls

Something as simple as buying a bowl of soup helps the homeless and hungry in Racine County. Empty Bowls benefits the Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization and the Racine County Food Bank. Organizers discuss who creates the handmade bowls for the event, who makes the soup, and the impact this event has had over the years.
