RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Fall means back to school and the Wisconsin Humane Society offers some awesome youth programs for students and teachers at our Racine Campus. We offer a variety of lessons for kids of all ages, from K4 through 12th grade. Field Trips • Both in-person and virtual • For students in K4 – 12th grade • Lessons align with state and national standards and can be tailored to accommodate the needs of your classroom • Field trips are approximately one hour and are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week. In person • Accommodate a maximum of 60 students. • $50 for the first 30 students, and an additional $2 per student beyond 30. • Includes a virtual behind-the-scenes tour to view with your class prior to your visit • An on-site tour of our adoption area, • A fun lesson that aligns with your educational goals, • A chance for your students to meet an animal. Virtual field trips • $50 for school groups and can host up to 60 participants • Online option includes a virtual behind-the-scenes tour, • Live virtual tour of one of our animal adoption areas with a chance to see some animals, • A live virtual lesson of your choice. Bird-Safe Classrooms Help migrating songbirds by making your classroom a Bird-Safe Classroom! WHS offers project ideas and games to help students learn about bird migration, how to prevent window collisions, and save wild birds. These fun activities are adaptable for multiple ages! Other youth programs In addition to school programs, we also offer Kids’ Night Out, Scouts Night, story time, and birthday parties throughout the year. How can I sign up for these programs? • Registration for fall programs is now open! • You do need to pre-register for all our wonderful Youth Programs.
