Storyblocks RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The National Digital Inclusion Alliance named Racine as a 2025 Digital Inclusion Trailblazer, recognizing the city's efforts to close the digital divide, officials announced in a Tuesday, Feb. 3 press release.
Digital inclusion refers to accessible and affordable high-speed internet, devices and digital skills training, according to the alliance. Racine joins 58 other cities recognized this year.
Racine Chief Information Officer Adele Edwards said the city's vision is for every member to participate in the digital society. The city was recognized for its Digital Divide Roundtable, a three-year initiative that brought together more than 125 participants from over 55 organizations, according to the city.
The roundtable led to a city digital equity plan, digital literacy fairs, Digital Inclusion Week programming and a grant program, officials said.
