RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 22-year-old teacher is accused of having sex with an underage student.
Amanda Eckblad worked for an organization contracted by the Racine School District and CBS 58 News is told that the 17-year-old boy in the video was a student.
Eckblad faces up to 25 years in prison for possession of child pornography, longer than she's been alive. Police say she had a video of herself having sex with a teenager.
"I felt terrible. She's 22. Young life," said neighbor Jennifer Tompsett.
Tompsett lived next door to Eckblad. Eckblad had only moved a few months ago.
Police say the boy in the video lived with her.
Tompsett says she thinks Eckblad clearly made a mistake especially if the relationship started in a school.
"I don't think it's right. I think you need to keep your professional life professional," said Tompsett.
She made sure to point out though that she wants to offer support in this difficult time for Eckblad and her family. "I basically didn't judge. We have to be praying for each other and being a light in neighborhoods for each other."
Court records show Eckblad had also been charged in a separate case for buying a handgun for someone not allowed to have one.
Police say she bought it for a 17-year-old convicted felon.
